Hello guys! This will be the start of my new series, Everyday Breakfast blogs!
Sort of like a challenge to post and share to you guys how I prepare my everyday breakfast. 😁
With that in mind I would like to start this blog with a quote from Robert A. Heinlein. 😄
Now I present to you...
Sautéed Sardines in Tomato Sauce With Egg And Rice! 😍
With protein from the fish and the egg, this dish will keep our health in check! As well as the Vitamin C we get from the tomatoes. :)
Here are our ingredients for this healthy breakfast:
- 1 Medium size can of sardines (any brand that you prefer)
- Misua noodles a.k.a. wheat vermicelli noodles
- Half a cup of minced onions
- Half a cup of minced garlic
- Half a cup of tomatoes
Now Let's cook!
First, I heat the pan as always and add in the oil.
After the pan and the oil is sufficiently heated, I sauté the garlic for a minute.
Then, I add the Onions and Tomatoes and stir for 2-3 minutes. 😊
by this time, it would already smell so good. I would always take my time to appreciate the smell of fried onions and garlic 😆 😋
Now, I add the Sardines and I try to press down on the sardines as I stir so that bits and juices of the sardines will blend with the sauce. I continue to stir for 1 minute.
Now it's time to add in the Misua, I like to add in a cup of water so the Misua cooks evenly and faster.
Then after frying an egg and pairing it with rice..
Viola!
Sautéed Sardines in Tomato Sauce With Egg And Rice! 😍
This dish used to be a struggle food when I was young.
My mother cooked this one and it could feed all 6 of us!
Since then I've grown a liking to it as it is delicious but also reminds me more of my mother and how she got through for us despite the poverty. 😊
