Abdul Khan aka Mister Zayani. Father of 2 married to Nisha a Henna and Makeup Artist. Been working in the family ru!n restaurant from a tender age of 12. When I say working, I mean working in the evenings, weekends and during school holidays. Straight in the kitchen after leaving school and been in the catering trade ever since.
Currently the owner of Zayani Restaurant near Heathrow Airport West London. This brings me to the subject of 3rd runway and the Heathrow expansion plans. I think it was in 1997 that the 3rd runway first came to my attention. Its now 20 years on and still no decision has been made. Successive governments of different political groups have used it as a political football. Even though millions have been spent on reports over several years. Zayani Restaurant will be effected if not totally demolished along with 100s of homes. Over the years many residents have sold there properties to the Airport and moved on. This has resulted in the loss of a community and of a once beautiful village to a transit stop over.
We were once a thriving business but are now trying to make best of the current situation, a business that is decreasing revenue along with increase in government led Taxes (40% increase business rates), I just want to know will there be a 3rd runway or not. I understand it's not decision thats made over night. However, it's now 20 years. How much longer must this go on for?
As a reader of this post and if you're ever passing through Heathrow find us through the internet, or if you're reading this badly written post just think of us and join me in the hope of to an ending of this saga.
