Hello Steemians!
Today when I woke up I wanted eggs, but I wasn't sure how I wanted them. I have chickens, so I ALWAYS have eggs. And when you always have eggs, you start to think up more creative ways to eat them.
I had some kimchi, so I thought, that might be good with eggs. Well, this is what I came up with- partially inspired by this recipe, but different.
This isn't my picture. It is from the recipe above. I ate mine before I got a picture! Even though they are different, the look exactly like this.
Ingredients:
Eggs (however many suit your fancy- I had 3!)
Kimchi
Worcestershire sauce (I know you just said that wrong in your head! It's WAR-STA-SHEER)
Salt & Pepper
Onions
Cooking oil or butter
Cheddar cheese (optional)
First, make your eggs sunny-side up. I know, I usually like the whites cooked more than that. But that recipe I posted above mentions an easy method for cooking the whites firmer- poke holes in the eggs while they are cooking, in the thick white parts. I know, it's genius.
Heat your oil in a pan and get it pretty hot before putting the eggs in. Add onion and salt and pepper to oil, to flavor the eggs. Then crack the eggs in and let them cook on high for like 2 minutes. You want the bottom to be crispy- nice and crispy- but not burned. After 2 minutes turn the heat to medium and poke holes in the whites. Cook for at least 5 more minutes, or until desired doneness.
Then once you have plated your eggs, top with chopped kimchi, a little bit of kimchi juice, and Worcestershire sauce. You don't want to cook the kimchi, because it will ruin all of the good stuff in it.
They taste amazing!!! A little spicy, but not too spicy. They taste Asian inspired, and they sort of are.
Let me know what you think steemians! You have to try them!
Until next time,
~Zoey
My mouth is watering reading the recipe alone... great shout with the egg white cooking tip too! Nothing more unappealing than gooey egg white imo.
I need to try this out! ;)
Thanks! And I totally agree with you about the egg white.
Let me know what you think if you try it! :)
