I just had an exciting trip to the annual summer vegan fayre in Norwich, England. I've never seen such a great array of vegan products of almost every kind - from cakes to soap to chocolate bars, all the way through to meat/dairy replacements.. Plus a variety of T-shirts, Perfumes and many other products. There were also speakers covering philosophical topics and other Vegan issues but I wasn't able to record them.
In short, Veganism is the name given to a movement that respects animals on Earth and ends their suffering by - for example - neither consuming animal products, nor using any products that harm Animals in any way. Veganism is actually more than this too - but that's the basic idea that many will use.
In this video you will get a good sense of some of the stalls and maybe some of the atmosphere too - which was very balanced and peaceful throughout. Check out the end where a local Vegan Bodybuilder and fitness trainer speaks to the benefits of Vegan nutrition for health and disease reversal. :)

I really enjoyed the video and post. I want to comment without sounding negative but I must say that the majority of the foods present may be vegan but that does not always relate to healthy. Most of the foods in the video were sweets and desserts. While I know everyone loves their sugar, refined sugars are simply not healthy. Sorry about the honesty but great post anyhow.

Thanks, yes, that is a valid point. However, the deserts shown do not contain refined sugar in the sense of granulated sugar - they generally contain organic maple syrup or other similar ingredients. There were also more healthy foods there too, I just didn't happen to film them. I think the fair is partially designed to attract non vegans and to lure them in to reconsider their choices - hence the products that mimic non vegan equivalents.
I see your point. Your content was great and I do understand that there was more to the fair than what I saw. As far as sugar is concerned... sugar is sugar even if it is maple syrup or raw honey. I will not harp on this but clean healthy eating does not require sugars and all sugars lead to inflammatory responses in our body. I digress now.

Well our body cells burn Glucose, so I don't really consider all sugars to be a problem. I appreciate that a ketogenic diet puts the cells in a non Glucose burning state - but I don't have experience of that. Fruits are clearly intended foods for humans, for example, and they are obviously quite high in natural sugars.
True enough but fruits still contain all of their natural fibers and the breakdown of the sugars in fruits takes place in the duodenum not in the stomach therefore bypassing the initial first pass of the liver. Simple sugars such as those found in honey and maple syrup are processed the same as any other sugar.
Very cool! Everything looked really cool! Was that soap what looked like a foot?
Yes! The soaps there looked amazing - but since I only wash once a year on my birthday I passed. :)
Norwich England is my favourite
Aha! I went to university here and live outside the City now - It's the most relaxed City I know of in Britain :)
That's great! i am hoping to go to one on the isle of wight in august which looks similar. I was veggie for almost 10 years and went vegan about a year ago. Greets!
Aha! Do you sneeze when you look at the sun? I am running out of things to discover we share :)
Hehehe ;) my Brother from another mother! i'm sneezing when i'm out in the sun at the mo, damn hayfever lol. :)
ah ok, i had hayfever for a short while but it stopped after a really bad year as a teenager .. I think it was actually due to me learning how my psychology was involved in causing it, but it's not something I can currently explain fully in words.
That's interesting, i've often wondered what part of myself is causing it, i only started getting it at 16 right in the middle of my english exam. When i travel, i never get it, i lived in the states for a few year and never had it there.
it is possible that you are being triggered by types of pollen that are only in britain - but it is also possible that the psychosomatic aspects are connected to experiences in britain too - so they aren't triggered overseas. you can have an allergy test to identify specific things you might be being triggered by and there are also protocols that can be used to reset the body's defence mechanisms.
That's very interesting. When i've contemplated it, it usually seems to be about britain, i thrive and enjoy my life even more in foreign lands. I will go and get an allergy test. I also do not like taking any anti-histamines. Cheers.
Yay! We need one of these fairs in Nottingham!
Maybe there is one! (I don't actually know if there is or not!) ;)
Nice post!
I will follow you.
Thanks! Greetings!
