Turmeric Tea "Gold Milk"
Turmeric tea is a popular beverage throughout Asia and is known as "Gold Milk".
The benefits of turmeric are mainly due to the active compound called curcumin.
Turmeric is a powerful antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory action.
“Golden milk” is a great way to get the health benefits of turmeric even when it isn’t on the menu. Prepared this way with warming spices like cinnamon and ginger. I love drinking this tea especially before bed .
Ingredients
1 cup of coconut milk
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon Ghi oil
1 tablespoon Natural honey
1 tablespoon Turmeric (powdered, grated root or food supplement)
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon(optional)
pinch of black pepper(optional)
pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Directions
1.Pick coconut milk and water in a saucepan and heat for 2 minutes.
2.Add butter, raw honey and turmeric powder for another 2 minutes.
3.Add cinnamon,black pepper and cayenne pepper (optional).
4.Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
5.Screw and pour in cups.
6.Drink immediately.
We have this tea several times a week, depending on the time of year and what sounds good. I love drinking this tea especially before bed because it aids relaxation and helps boost the immune system while sleeping.
