Using the Same Ingredients and Measurements to make either simple pancakes or GOURMET Pancakes!

in #food8 years ago

Are you ready?  Pancakes are my favorite to eat for breakfast.  I am going to show you how to make the easiest pancakes.  I will show you the 2 minute method prep or the 10 minute method prep based on your time.  The ingredients and measurements are the same so it is all up to you.  The difference is one is the 5 minutes one is flat and the 20 minute one is fluffy.  Also the fluffy one you don't need baking powder!

As a rule of thumb, the ingredients is 1-1-2.  For every cup of flour you need the same amount of milk.  For every cup of flour you need double the amount of eggs.  Vanilla extract is optional and you can adjust it according to taste.  Also when cooking pancakes also cook at medium heat.  A little lower on medium will work too but don't go past the medium line.

Ingredients:

1 Cup of Flour

1 Cup of Milk

2 eggs

A teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

Salted Butter

Maple Syrup (or whatever you like to put on your pancakes!  Some people like powdered sugar, fruit syrup etc.)

THE TWO MINUTE METHOD PREP:
Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix until blended (this will take about 2 minutes).  Pour the batter about 6 inches across and take about 2-3 minute on each side.

THE 10 MINUTE METHOD PREP:
Separate the egg white from the egg yolk (2 minutes).  Put the egg white in a big bowl.

Then put the flour, milk, vanilla extract, and egg yolk and mix it together until it's blended (2 minutes).  Leave it there. Go back to your egg whites.  Now you have to beat those eggs!  You can use an electric blender but I just do it manually. You know it's done when the eggs stiff up.  If you take your whisk and put it in and then pull it out it should create peaks!  (4 minutes).  Then you take your previous mixture you have made previously and pour in the egg whites.  Fold it in by gently mixing it in (don't beat this!  Be gentle!) (2 minutes).  You will see your mixture get really fluffy!

Pour the batter about 6 inches across and take about 2-3 minute on each side.

It's so easy!  Add the salted butter on top and add your favorite toppings and syrup.  So yummy!
