Thank you very much for all your entries! It's fantastic that thanks to you we could get to know all these wonderful dishes with fish! Choosing the winners was very difficult but it's time to know the results!

🥇 First place and 3 STEEM won @osmy07!

Fanastic idea for a fish dish. On the one hand, I really like the "pure" taste of fish, but the form of this dish completely enchanted me. A combination of cake and lasagna? It must be delicious!



Name: Pastel de chucho (Chucho's cake)
Country: Venezuela

Info: This dish It is a kind of lasagna with ripe fried plantain (slices) and a fish stew with sweet peppers and onoto. It known for the mixture of flavors, between the sweet and the salty. Also known for its main ingredient, which is a very famous fish on the island of Margarita called ¨chucho¨, and prepared in different ways.

The Chucho is a cartilaginous fish with a large body, flattened and long, with a round tipped head and large fins, skin and silver-gray color, belonging to the shark family but with oval eyes and triangular and flat teeth.

Besides of the chucho stew, this cake also has: white cheese, eggs, papelon molasses, and fried well-ripe plantains.

And if we are talking about "clean" fish, this dish looks like a million dollars! I love grilled fish, the taste of which is complemented by fresh spices! That's what I call a solid piece of fish!


Name: Snoek Braai
Country: South Africa
Price: R100 / 6.82$ / 5.25 STEEM

Info: Snoek braai is a traditional South African favourite. Snoek is a type of deep sea fush we get locally and braai is the South African word for barbaque. The fish is coated in fresh herbs and garlic butter with a hint of apricot jam. And is grilled on the fire for no more than 15 minutes!! Served with salads, and garlic bread!! It's always a hit for any braai get together!

Absolutely fantastic idea to colour rice with natural ink. I will certainly experiment with this concept because I think it has great potential.


Name: Black rice with sepia roasted with rosemary
Country: Venezuela
Price: 2.000 Bs. / 10 $ / 12,20 Steem

Info: This is a delicious dish typical of the region of the east coast of Venezuela. For us it is an extraordinary lunch, full of flavor and nutrients.
Heat the broth and add the squid ink, mix well and reserve hot.
In a hot pot sauté the onion, once the onion is crystallized add the garlic and the rice, without stopping to move. Pour the white wine and let evaporate a little. Add 3 tz. of the broth with squid ink. And season with salt. Let cook over high heat.
When the rice reaches the boiling point, lower it to medium heat. Let the broth reduce almost completely, if it still feels very raw the rice add a little more broth. Add the sweet pepper, cover and let cook over a very slow fire for 5 more minutes. Reserve.
