INGREDIENTS:
GINGERBREAD:
1kg of flour
300g of cold butter, diced
3 tablespoons of bread mix
spice (anise powder, ginger powder,
powdered nutmeg and reduced cloves
in powder)
1 tablespoon baking soda (or
of baking powder)
400g of blond vergeoise (or brown sugar)
3 big eggs
1 pinch of salt
225g of Golden Syrup (replaceable by
Acacia honey)
ASSEMBLY AND DECO:
750g icing sugar
2 egg whites
Sets: characters, Christmas tree, sweets,
corn flakes…
Cardboard cake plate to fix the
House
Preparation:
Prepare the gingerbread dough:
Put half of the flour and butter in
the bowl of a pastry robot until you get
a sandy texture. Add the rest of the
flour, spices, baking soda and
a pinch of salt. Mix with the leaf all
by pouring the sugar.
In another bowl, beat the eggs and
golden syrup then add the dry mix
while mixing with a wooden spoon.
Agglomerate this mixture in your hands for
to form a ball of dough.
Cut out the elements of the house:
Preheat the oven to 180 °. Make a template
walls and roof of the house in the
baking paper then cut them out following
outline.
Lower the dough on a floured board on
5mm thick using a roll to
pastry and cut out 2 walls, 2 fronts and
2 sections of roof following the outline of
jigs using a thin knife. Deposit the
pieces on a sheet of baking paper on
the oven plate and cook them in
several times at the rate of 8-12 mn each
time until the gingerbread is well
golden. Let the pieces cool on a
baking sheet.
Also use this paste lowered on 3 mm
to cut with cookie cutters
characters, fir trees or any other
decor element
As the gingerbread inflates a little in
cooking, the pieces must be re-cut
following the cut out templates. It is
also the moment of size of
openings in the facade (door, window).
Wait until the gingerbread has
hardened to start decorating and assembling
the different elements of the house.
Prepare the icings:
Put the egg whites in the bowl of the robot
pastry chef or in a salad bowl and beat them
with the icing sugar for 1 minute until
obtaining a fluffy frosting but well
thick (when you remove a spoon of
icing a peak must form). Put one or
2 tablespoon of this frosting in a
small sleeve pocket with a socket
1,5 or 2 to draw the fine decorations. put
then half of the frosting in a pocket
socket with a socket of about 7 (otherwise
cut a small opening in the pocket to
socket) to be used to make the cement of the walls
of the house as well as the decorations more
important;
Using the socket of 7, drop a good
line of frosting along the height of the
walls then stick them inside the facade
back (see video). Be careful to put the
upper face of the walls to the outside of the
House. Do the same along the others
sides of the wall and then glue the front
above. Keep everything in your hands
a few moments, the time that the frosting
begins to dry. Then drop
house on a cardboard plate (covered
of aluminum foil taped underneath if this one
is not intended for food contact),
center it then draw lines of frosting
flush with the walls of the house to solidify
the building. Let it dry for 1 hour so that the
icing hardens.
Add the roof of the house, use the frosting
over the length of the roof and make them stick to
over the house by overtaking them
1 cm then let dry.
Finish the decoration of the house to your choice
with the help of children, sweets, chocolate,
cornflakes for the roof, marzipan ......
Ice the plate:
If you wish, add a little water to
icing remaining to get an icing
liquid (if you draw a line with the knife at
center of the frosting it should put 10 sec to
disappear completely, if it disappears more
quickly, add a little icing sugar, if it does not
disappears not really add a little bit
of water) and spread the finely with a
spatula and sprinkle with pearl sugar and
let it dry. If the icing does not adhere very
well on the aluminum paper, mix the icing with
pearled sugar and drop this mixture on the
plate a little coarser way, the effect
will be pretty too.
Finally, when everything is dry, stick them
characters and fir trees on the plates with
a little icing and possibly small
pieces of sugar paste or dough
almonds from behind if they are too heavy.
The gingerbread house and consumable
for 2 weeks if you protect her from the
dust. If you do not eat it, she gets
will keep as a decorative object for
long months in a dry place away from the
dust.
So nice and looks delicious :)
