I always like a good dumpling soup for winter time. Something that's pipping hot and filling are the best therapy for the harsh winter we face here in Canada.
The temperature has been at all time low and broke the records here in Toronto. Last night, the temperature reached as low as -30. As a true Canadian, we find ways to cope and enjoy winter.
I would like to say that soup making is one of my ways to enjoy winter. This dumping soup I made is super easy and does not require much ingredients, which is a plus!
Do you live in a cold climate? If so, what type of comfort food do you make at home to stay warm?
reminds me of French Onion soup with dumplings...very cool and good for cold weather!
Most definitely. Yum - Maybe next I will make Onion Soup!
maybe a new type of soup will emerge: Dumpling Onion Soup!
holy cow this soup! what a great way to stay warm. it's too god damn cold out there. happy new year!
That's how my mother always made chicken and dumplings, and for me the joy was breaking into the dumpling with a spoon and experiencing the different textures (the fluffiness of the center of the dumpling, the slightly gummy outside). There's something so enjoyable about having a big dumpling to break open vs. a handful of tiny dumplings.
My husband grew up with the tiny dumplings, and he was incredibly perplexed when I made chicken and dumplings and it turned out looking a big like the one in the gif rather than what he knows
Yum - Love chicken and dumplings soup!!!
Looks and sounds great. Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe.
Glad you liked it!!!
