- "Kari Aceh" is Aceh's most popular favorite food type ("Kuah Beulangong" in Aceh / "Kuah Beulanga" in Indonesian).
Kari Aceh has a slightly spicy flavor that is yellow. There are four types of Aceh curry dishes with different main ingredients:
- goat curry,
- beef curry,
- duck curry, and
- chicken curry.
Coconut milk and various other ingredients, such as jackfruit, or young bananas, red chili, chilli rivet, coconut gongseng and other spices are the main ingredients that make curry dishes Aceh special.
On many occasions, the Aceh curry is traditionally cooked using a specially designed large pot. Generally speaking, only adult males who have cooking skills are capable of cooking curry dishes, so it will be an attraction and a special experience for tourists to visit.

Kuah Pliek, this food is most preferred by the people of Aceh, especially those who are in eastern Aceh, especially in Aceh Pidie and surrounding areas. The main ingredient for this pliek sauce is Pliek U which is coconut residue left in making coconut oil not through heating but through decay first. Then another characteristic of this Pliek Kuah is the mixing of various vegetables that have been cut into small pieces, including green chili. So if you eat sauce pliek also can not be avoided from the spicy taste.
