Today I had a belated birthday dinner at Yak Italian restaurant in Melbourne's CBD. The service and ambiance was great and the food was exceptional. Pictured above is the pasta of the day which is a tripe filled ravioli. When I heard it was tripe I wasn't interested because I don't like offal but my friend ordered it and I tried a piece. It was very delicious. The chef chopped it up finely so it didn't taste like tripe at all. I had the gnocchi of the day which was cooked with a veal ragu. The gnocchi was very fluffy like pillows and melted in my mouth. Too bad the photo was blurry.
For dessert we shared a tiramisu and it was like nothing I have seen before. Looks like a pot of soil with leaves right? You pour hot coffee with liquor over it. Delicious!
Melbourne is the best damn city in the world don't ever let anyone tell you different. and that desert looks crazy good!!!!!
