Shakshuk.
Shakshuka is an ideal option for a hearty breakfast. This dish is quite common in Israel, Morocco and Tunisia. In fact, these are eggs baked in tomato sauce with vegetables. The simplest, basic set is tomatoes, onions, hot peppers and spices. But you can cook with other vegetables - for example, sweet pepper, zucchini.
Ingredients per serving:
- 1 small onion
- 1/2 medium sweet pepper
- 1 small spicy pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 tsp Ground zira
- 200 g of tomatoes in own juice
- Salt and sugar to taste
- 1 tsp. White wine or apple cider vinegar
- 3 eggs
Preparation:
1. Finely chop the onions. Pepper is cut into strips. In a frying pan on medium heat, heat 1 tbsp. Vegetable oil. We put onions and peppers, fry, stirring, 5 minutes.
2. Add finely chopped hot peppers and garlic, as well as zir. Fry for another 1 minute. Add the mashed tomatoes along with the juice. Quench without cover about 5 minutes. Add vinegar, as well as salt and sugar to taste.
3. Drive the eggs into the pan.
4. Cook on low heat, until the protein completely grasps - it will take 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can send the frying pan to a preheated oven to 200 degrees.
We serve with bread, pita bread or pita.
