It is annual Horseradish making day at the Deatons. Our patch is growing larger. We could easily triple this batch. We came just short of a quart of the rippenest, roarinest, pungentness, batch ever! Whewwieeee... I do believe this could be weaponized as some sort of tear gas. Some lucky friend gets the little jar in the middle for Christmas.. The pink jar 2nd from the left is a cranberry infused specialty that is the perfect compliment for fresh grilled tuna. I think I know where I can get some. LOL! You will notice it is less than full. We couldn't stop tasting it. While a bit labor intensive to prepare, growing and preparation cost is nothing. A little vinegar, sugar, salt, and voila. It grows like a weed. In fact, the first year Candy planted it, I thought it was a weed. I sprayed it with an herbicide and it popped back up and pretty much said, "Screw you!" Lucky me. The only problem is, you can't can it! It will keep for about a month in the fridge before losing potency. However, it is very unlikely to spoil. Something fun for us to do on a southern winter day. Chow y'alll!
