in #food7 years ago

With minimal research, inspiration, and a vast love for kombucha I was off to brew my first gallon of this ancient elixer!

First to make the best kombucha I had to find the freshest loose leaf black tea

With all the necessities here it was time to start brewing!

I was highly motivated by this individual on youtube and had to half his recipe for my gallon :D

Final product ready for storage!

Tips:
I ordered the scoby online on amazon and did pick up an original kombucha flavor and added 2 cups to my gallon to help the scoby thrive

In 7 days we will test drink the kombucha and bottle it for another 7-10 days, so excited! Can't wait!!!

Sort:

i'm quite a foodie myself , but you surprised me with this stuff. first i'm hearing of the stuff, sounds interesting and certainly am going to experiment with this drink. thanks for enlightening me on this probiotic.

Mine is finished! After 7 days of letting the scoby ferment my tea in the gallon i bottled it for 2 days...2 different flavors! Will make a post today...but only mistake i made was when i bottled one i bottled very little in another gallon jar air tight but it lost nearly all its carbonation...the other one was perfect! Better than store bought kombucha in under 10 days :)
