As I said before in Travel & Food: Mangu vs Mofongo Part 1, if you eat plantain you will like any of these two dishes. They are both made with plantain. If you have not eaten plantain this is a good way to start.
Mangu
Mangu is a Dominican dish, is basically mashed plantain. The plantains are boiled and then mashed using the water where they were boiled. The water should be seasoned , usually with adobo, chicken broth, oil, and salt. Dominican usually eat it with salami, eggs or cheese, or the combination of the three ( we called it la tripleta or the triplets). But you can eat it with any protein you choose at any time of the day, but it is a great breakfast.
Below I let you with a picture of a simple but delicious Mangu made by my wife. In this case she served with sausage and eggs at the top.
