Barbecue Beef Ribs
6 pounds 2.7 kg beef short ribs.
1/2 cup flour
2 large onions sliced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
3/4 cup ketchup 180ml
3/4 cup water 180 ml
2 tbsp white vinegar or cider vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 tbsp honey
3/4 cup water
1 Heat oven to maximum temperature while preparing the ribs.
2 Cut ribs into portions or leave whole
3 Mix flour, salt and pepper in a bowl. toss the ribs in seasoned flour and arrange in a roasting pan or a casserole dish with a lid Spread sliced onions over the ribs.
4 In a jug or bowl whisk the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire, soy sauce, sugar, honey and water. Pour over ribs. Cover with lid or foil and Place in the oven for 10 Minutes.
5 after 10 minutes reduce the temperature to 350ºF. / 180ºC. bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours hours.
6 Remove foil and bake for a further 20 minutes.
Serve with rice of your choice. Alternatively the beef can be removed from the bone.
