There are different kinds of pumpkins, and so "pie" pumpkins we generally eat, but "jack-o-lantern" pumpkins we eat the seeds part but the rest is not super good for eating. Or at least, that is what the common belief is but yours looks like maybe a jack o lantern! Great for farm animals or compost, though. Sometimes you will see farms or animal sanctuaries or the zoo collecting pumpkins after Halloween.
If you're curious, on my blog I did a post explaining the original Pagan holiday that Halloween comes from, Samhain (I think it's over a week old, this is not me asking for an upvote, lol).
