Saturday outing with a Ferrari!

It was Saturday morning and we didn't know what to do. We got up, jogged and got ready (without knowing what we wanted to do that day). We decided to call a friend who lives in Melkbosstrand and asked him what his plans was for the day. As we were driving through I could see that this was going to be a beautiful day, not only the scenery but also the fun that we were going to have!

We arrived at his house and this was the view from his room...

They live in a golf estate and as you can see they have a clear view of Table Mountain.
After arriving at his house we decided that we were hungry. We went down to the beach area where all the restaurants are. It was a perfect day at the beach!

We walked passed a few nice looking restaurants, but none of them really intrigued us. Then my boyfriend remembered that there was this Italian restaurant nearby and that we must rather go there. From the outside it didn't really look like anything, but when we got inside it was a totally different story! We got such a warm welcoming and it just felt so homey.

While I was sitting in this beautiful restaurant I felt nostalgic and I couldn't understand why. Then it hit me, when I was a little girl my father used to watch the Grand Prix every Sunday. His favourite driver was Micheal Schumacher who raced with a Ferrari! This place was full of Ferrari flags, model cars, shirts and even a piece of Micheal's one racing car!!!

Besides the fact that this restaurant is a Ferrari museum their food is absolutely amazing! The pizza which I ate had so much flavour in it that I almost started crying. My boyfriend, who is half Italian, had a basil tagliatelle and our friend had lasagna.

The food might look ordinary, but I can assure you it is so flavourful that you would want to have seconds! I would really recommend this restaurant. It's in Melkbosstrand and the place's name is Trattoria Maranello. You will not regret it!
