Past the cake
It is found in the pages of history that there are very few milestones in cake and ancient times. The cake on the previous day was like a bowl. Honey was given to sweeten the cake. Sometimes fries and dried fruits were given to make it attractive and more delicious. According to food researchers, ancient Egyptians have been able to discover the technique of making cakes for the first time on Earth. According to 'The Oxford English Dictionary,' the word 'cake' was first used in the 13th century. The word 'cake' is derived from the word 'Kaka', which is derived from the Old Norse word. Medieval Europeans could also make cakes. They were able to express their expertise only on making fruit cakes and gingerbreads. And these cakes could be stored for several months.
According to food experts, modern cakes are prepared for the first time in Europe, and in the mid-17th century. Note that modern cakes are meant to represent round cakes, which are called on. The main role behind this was the technical development of Europe. In the mid-17th century, due to technological progress, different shapes of mold could be found to make ovens and cakes. Besides, various food ingredients are also available, which makes the work of making cakes easier. In order to shape the cakes, only one type of mold was used, which was made of metal, paper or wood. Some of these molds were adjustable. Occasionally the use of cake pan was introduced.
The mixture of fine sugar syrup and egg whites were used earlier for the icing. Moreover, many different types of materials were used to taste this mixture.
After the icing, the cake was then boiled in oven. Waiting for a while after taking out of the oven, there is a strong but smooth lining on the cake. Due frosts were still used on some cakes in the erasing season.
However, it was not equivalent to the current cakes. The quality of the cake comes in today's mid-19th century. At this time, flour was used to make cakes and baking powder instead of East. A new recipe for lear cake is available in 'The Castle's New Universal Kakari Book' (London 1894). This recipe was different from the traditional recipes of the time. In the first few decades of the 20th century, American butter cream frosting was used in the place of conventional bolted icing. This frosting was made of Butter, Cream, Refined Sugar and various Food Flavors.
Why is the size of cake usually round?
The cake was originally spherical. Although the time, culture and cuisine change depends on the size of the cake. Today, these rounded cakes are mainly changed from the ancient bread.
Old bread and cakes were made with hands. Generally, the way the flour or flour balls are made during the formation of the bread, it is made by placing them in a sack or hand with a roller or tawa or thin thin pan. All rounds of cake are possible to garnish properly in these round tawa. That was why there was a continuation of making round cakes at that time.
In the 17th century, instead of using pan instead of pan or tarah, the mold was used, but it was rounded. The reason is the same as before. From natural side, this round mold is also useful for making this meal. But technology improves over time. As a result, different types of shapes and types of mold start coming in the market, which show the new picture of the cake to the common people. Cakes made from molds are most commonly known and celebrated in the Victorian era.
One thing is that there were no floor under these 17th century molds. There was only diversion or thickness. The thickness of iron or wood made on the pan is made of cakes. These books have been known from many cooking books of the era. E. Smith's book 'The Complete House Wife' states that the recipe for making this delicious meal is that during preparation of cake, it is necessary to take oil or butter around the spine and take a layer of flour or flour on the paper with one or two layers.
The book was first published in 1727, where there are 40 cakes manufactured. His book can be called an ideal book containing the time cooking, especially the description of the formation of cakes. However, the author of the book himself said that he wrote this book, depending on his thirty years of experience. By doing this, some recipes of the book are based on the traditional method of the previous century. For example, he used to say that he used to have paper diversion or hard use in some recipe of the book, which was a familiar process in the 17th century. But in the book published in the 18th century, this matter was made. Also, the timber used by many people is also understood from his book. According to 17th-century Sir Kennam Digby and a few other experts, tin cuffs are more convenient than those of paperwork.
Moreover, there is less chance of rubbish or dirt in the tin bore. In the 19th century, due to the industrial revolution, the components of the cake became available. Due to which this trend of making the food and sales increased.
Why is cake made?
Cakes have been used in various religious ceremonies since ancient times. That is why their size is different accordingly. Still serving cakes on different occasions, such as birthdays, weddings or special days. Many people do the job of making this cake for themselves. Once sugar powder, spices, nuts and dry fries were expensive, then there was a way to show some respect to this cake, serving this cake. Although its value is not much today, the purpose behind it remains the same.
