Daily Groovy: Mr. Ping Kung Fu Panda Quote - Korean Ramen 감자면 yummy!!

My kids love Korean Ramen. It may not sound like something special but Mr. Ping says: “To make something special, you just have to believe that it’s special.” It’s been below zero for the past week in Korea and there is nothing quite as special as a bowl of hot ramen noodles on a cold day.

Their favorite Ramen is 감자면 potato noodle ramen. I think my kids like this Ramen because the noodles don’t swell up as fast as other Ramen noodles so they can eat it slowly. Also it’s not a really spicy ramen. It’s pretty easy to cook. You just have to believe it’s special and they will love it.

First, boil the water about 550ml for one ramen package. That’s a little bit more than 2 cups of water. The important thing here is to get the water really bubbling up into a boil.

Next, add the dried vegetables while the water is still boiling. This is the point you can also add green onion, leeks or kimchee. (Check out my kimchee instructions.) https://mspsteem.com/cooking/@mineopoly/first-kimchee-of-the-season

Then, add the ramen powder. My kids don’t like it too spicy so I only add 3/4 of the package into the water.

Finally, add the noodles into the boiling water and keep it boiling for three minutes.

After three minutes the noodles are done and they should look like this.

My kids scoop up the noodles right away and eat them without drinking much of the broth. I like the broth and the vegetables. If you aren’t going to eat the noodles right away then remove the noodles from the broth and keep them in another bowl until you are ready to eat them. Then serve the noodles with the broth.
