My Best Native Foods - Part One

in #food7 years ago (edited)

In my country home Nigeria,  which is basically a plural multiethnic diverse country with different cultures and traditions, the cuisine varies from different ethnicities. I am from the Igbo tribe, I grew up getting to know these foods and I love eating them.

It is impossible to compress all the foods in an overview, so i will be sharing with you some of my tribal foods on this episode.

Below are some of the foods that are prevalent in this part of the world I enjoy eating this foods I must say.

Agidi Jollof

This delicious igbo food is prepared  with a soft bone inside and wrapped with a leaf called Uma or an aluminum wrap. It is also called  (Okpukpu Agidi) .

Nkwobi

Nkwobi is an igbo delicacy that is prepared by mixing a well cooked cow head or goat with a spicy palm oil paste.

Egusi soup

This is my best food egusi soup with garri  .  I love it real good. Especially when there is enough stock fish, fish, meat, e.t.

Abacha(African salad)

African  salad is one attractively garnished food I love eating. Very tasty and  nice, you can find this food mainly in Enugu state.

Oto(water-yam delicacy)

The first time I ate this food was during my national youth service, a Corp member actually prepared it for me.  The cooking procedure of this Igbo food is similar to that of yam porridge; but it is blended with a grader and mixed with stew ingredients.
