Wonderful trips are exhausting, it is worth to find good food or something to drink after escapades. On Vava'u there are places where eating on plates looks very appetizing. The menu is put together with the products that are currently in the kitchen, so you can say there is no boredom. If something is not there, it is not there. The menu is very limited, but if it's already done, believe me, everything is very tasty and made with love. The ingredients they use most often are fruits and fish (not all fruits are from the island) and the rest - meat, vegetables, spices and other fruits are delivered from New Zealand.
The restaurants have a great task, they have to order enough to make it available for the next delivery. If the container is not on time, meals are limited.
The main island and other islands are inhabited by people who produce their own products or have their own vegetables or fruits, but their prices are much higher than the products ordered by the container. However, own production on the island is a real feat, I admire those people.

That is a chicken with veggies in papaya sauce. Papaya is grilled :) Not lots of local products but lets say mostly ;)
