This is how I made it:
I warmed 175 ml milk and added 50 g of fresh yiest as well as 60 g powdered sugar.
I waited app. 10 minutes until the yiest rose a little bit and then added 60 g melted butter, 5 g salt, 2 eggs and 500 g white flour. I made a nice, elastic dough from these ingredients and let it rest for app. half an hour.
Then I cut the dough into 3 and rolled 3 long "ropes" from it. Then I plaited the three "ropes" and brushed it with beaten egg.
Preheated the oven to 170 degrees and baked it for app. 40 minutes until it rised gently and became nice golden brown. (Our one can never cool, the kids eat it all at once... :-DDD)
For the strawberry jam I usually boil app. 500 g fresh or frozen strawberries with 50 g sugar. You can eat it warm, too, but this time I made it previous night and put it into the fridge until the morning.
Enjoy! :-)
