Sushi, Anyone? Hello, Conveyor Belt Sushi.

in #food7 years ago (edited)

A couple nights ago, my husband and I went to a really great sushi restaurant called Sushi Choo Choo that delivers delicious sushi in a unique way... via conveyor belts. No matter where you are sitting in the restaurant, a conveyor belt topped with delicious sushi, appetizers and desserts moves past you.

Sushi Conveyor Belt Video

Here's a video I made using Inshot. See below to learn how. I added upbeat music and a drooling emoji to my video. Notice the reflection of the sushi chefs preparing dishes.

Before each new item is a description.

No ordering necessary

You simply take whatever you would like to eat off the conveyor belt, from various sushi rolls...

black pepper tuna sushi and the sweet, tangy taste of seaweed salad.

Each plate is color-coded and corresponds to a specific price.

At the end of the meal, the wait staff provides you with a bill based on the tallied plates.

In conclusion

I've been to another sushi restaurant that has their sushi floating by on a little lazy river in front of you instead of the conveyor belt. I've only seen this type of delivery with sushi. I personally think it would be smart for other types of restaurants to deliver their food to customers this way. You would think that there must be a dim sum restaurant that delivers this way. What about tapas, Indian or Mediterranean foods? So dear friends, what do you think?

Now, who's hungry?! 😋

That looks fun, the food portions don't look that small either. Did you get the feeling you were on a moving train as the players kept moving past you lol. I always joke that there's nothing like a burger after a good sushi dinner lol 0:)

Hi @dreamingirwin! The portions seemed bigger this time because I've been on changing my eating habits for the last couple weeks... Eating healthier, smaller portions, cutting down on carbs, etc. I feel so much better! 😄

I've never visited a restaurant with one, but have heard of "conveyor belt sushi."

Thanks for the images and the video - everything looks all the more tempting in a video!

I have also heard of sushi boats on canals in the latest sushi restaurants in Japan. I wonder how they bill the customers if they pick their dishes from a canal though.

@maxabit, thank you for watching my video! 😆 I love making them.

The lazy river sushi I went to before is tallied up the same way as you take plates off the boats that pass by.

BTW, I am going to change my title to put sushi after conveyor belt. I liked the way it rolled off your comment. 😁

Well, if you make videos of delicious dishes, you can't expect anyone not to watch them!

I think the term "sushi conveyor belt" refers to the conveyor belt system itself, while "conveyor belt sushi" is a very popular topic and a type of cuisine or food presentation. So you did the right thing by changing the title, just so as to clarify the topic of the post.

Besides, as you mentioned it rolls off better!

Thanks for responding to my comment. (-:

Oh, I would definitely eat too much there :)
I love sushi. By the way, these photos are incredible!
Lots of love my dear.

LOL @abigail-dantes, it's so easy to overeat when food just passes by. I should probably clarify that that pile of plates was for both me and my husband. Before Steem, I never really took pictures and now I take pictures everywhere I go in case I want to blog about it in the future. Love you tons! 💕

I ate at a sushi train last night after a Steemit meet up. :)

Food is always better when it arrives on a train.

Yes, it is! I wish more food was delivered that way. That's so cool that you had a Steemit meet up! What country? Town?

Melbourne, Australia.

My wife always jokes that there should be a tapas train. Or even a tex mex train. Nachos on a train? Hell yes.

That’s such a cool idea fir a restaurant love the idea

Tip!

Thank you @tattoodjay! I'm so hungry. LOL.

Ohh yes me to now lol

I love these sushi places! I wish there were some around me. The last one I went to was in Chicago. Thanks for your post!

@cassandraf, it is fun to find great places to eat! 😁

That looks really cool! Interesting how they do the pricing based on the plate color. I bet it would add up quickly! What happens if you grab something and then change your mind (before taking a bite)? Can you stick it back on the conveyor belt? :)

That's a good question! I never tried putting something back. They probably wouldn't care if you did it quickly before lifting up the cover.

Surprisingly, you get full pretty quickly. We ended up getting one or two plates too many and overate. Felt like I needed to be rolled out. 🤣

I would ate everything.

Lol. Food is yummy! 😋
