How was your weekend? Mine was perfect! I had the opportunity to spend it with my fiance. We had a lot of fun organizing some details for our wedding, which is in 2 months. These two days when we were together we had to decide what our guests will receive from us at the end of our wedding. We want to thank them in a nice way and we really hope they will enjoy it. After hours of research looking for something nice but also delicious to give to our wedding guests, we decided that macaroons could be the greatest idea.
History says that macaroons were born in Italy in 1533 and it was first created by the cook of Catherine de Medici, when she was married to the Duke d'Orleans, who in 1547 became king of France. The first macaroons were simple cakes made from almond powder, sugar and egg whites. In France there are still many stories about their history today, the most famous being that Catherine de Medici's niece was saved from starvation eating macaroons. Since then, macaroons are the best-selling cakes in French cake shops.
Just imagine this: at the end of the wedding our guests will not go home without anything but they will all receive a nice decorated box with 5-6 colorful macaroons. Me and my fiance had fun tasting some macaroons flavors and we already have our winners: peach, strawberry, blackberries, pistachio and chocolate. What do you think? Is this a good suggestion? Should we go with it?
It looks like a nice idea. I would like to taste the pistachio macaroon!
I am sure your guests will love the macaroons! They are such a delicious treat! Good ideea!
