Super Bowl Food Fest

For the first time since February 2005, I have a reason to watch the Super Bowl beyond just commercials, meeting up with friends, gambling, and most importantly...... eating entirely too much food.

While my main focus on Sunday will be those high soaring Eagles trying to take down pretty boy Brady, that doesn't exempt me from indulging in some great food options. Here is a rundown of our menu:

The main event - "Cheesesteaks"

I put this in quotes because I am not sure anyone who makes cheesesteaks at home actually can make them even remotely as good as any food truck or restaurant that offers them up here in Philly. The meat will be more of a pulled beef versus the slides of glorious steak soaked in grease that is produced around the city. Still pumped to give it a shot!

Here is the recipe, which I will loosely follow and combine with the 2nd link:

Other fixins'

Wings - a must have for an event like this. A friend will be making these to lessen the burden on us as hosts

Buffalo chicken dip - You might think we are crazy for having buff chick dip with the wings, but they are FAR from the same thing and both incredibly delicious. Super pumped for a friend to be bringing this over.

Onion Dip - found some pretty interesting recipes online, but will keep this simple with a packet and some greek yogurt to keep it pseudo-healthy

Insert probably 3-4 other sides here as they will all be a surprise from our guests

Dessert
Every Super Bowl party requires some sweets to finish off the night and we went with some custom cookies to get us pumped for our Eagles!

Should be an awesome Sunday night filled with football, food, friends, and oh yea, BEER!

GO EAGLES!!
