Cinnamon Crust Lemon Pie - @HELENDELGADO

     Hello Steemit community! I apologize for not posting as often as I should, but I´m here, I’m back with a new tutorial, super simple and VERY delicious. My cinnamon crust lemon pie. In my personal experience, every time I eat dessert and get a lemon pie, it turns out to be more acid than I’d like; I decided to make one on my own and find the right proportions to make a delicious one and with less than 10 ingredients.


    Ingredients:

  • 3 Lemons 
  • 1 package of butter cookies
  • 1 Can of condense milk
  • 1 Teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 Cups of butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 vanilla teaspoons
  • 1/2 Cup of sugar 


     Utensils:

  • Food processor
  • Pie pan


     We are goint to start crushing the cookies with our hands. Then we put the crushed cookies in the food procesor to pulverize them

     

We proceed to put the crushed cookies in a bowl, we add a cinnamon teaspoon and mix; in a cup, we microwawe the butter, if is not completely melted, we add 30 more seconds.



We add the melted butter to our cinnamon and cookies mix, and we keep mixing. If you feel it’s too dry, add some more butter and mix, and then we put it in the pie pan; we spread the mix and then we press it so it gets compact, then, with a fork, we pinch the crust (this allows the pies mix gets cooked evenly) and we put it in the oven for 15 minutes.



For our lemon pie mix, we pour our condense milk in a bowl, we squeeze our lemons so we get half a cup of lemon juice, now we add little by little, and we start mixing! We taste the mixed as we pour the lemon juice, this way we ensure our lemon pie is not too acid. In another bowl we separate the egg whites and yolks. We add the yolks to our pie mix and mixed till is blended.



To make our meringue, we mix our egg whites with an electric mixer till consisten peaks start forming; in a pot we put our sugar with 3 water spoons and put this in médium heat for 5 minutes, we take it out from fire and add this to the egg whites. We add a vanilla teaspoon.




Now that we hace our pie crust done we pour the lemon pie mix to the pie pan, then we putt he meringue on top and making any desing you like. We bake this for 30 minutes in medium heat or till its golden on top.



And there you have it! A yummy lemon pie, homemade and unexpensive

Many of your your ingredients are not common here in this part of the country, you know how sad that is?. I have a brother who would do anything to try a new food and recipe.

You can always replace things you dont find for other options! let me know wich ingredients you find difficult to get so I can advice you on what to buy!
