Rickshaw Rick’s

Rickshaw Rick’s is an all-day cantina serving up global comfort food with a street food edge. They’ve created a space that takes inspiration from old street markets and travels from around the world to create a little escapism and experience for you to dine in. The staff are very polite and welcoming, always happy to help you choose from the menu.

The service is great and fairly quick from the moment you are seated. I’ve visited Rickshaw Rick’s a few times and have ordered the following from the menu:

• Fried chicken ‘n’ cheese fondue box
  Buttermilk fried chicken & Korean fried wings tossed in gochujang sauce to be dipped in a cheesy fondue. Comes with American slaw, house mayo, kimchi tomato dip, steak fries, tater tots & mixed veg fritters.

• Masala fish platter
  A fillet of fish fried in their crispy masala batter served with a chip shop curry sauce, ketchup, crunchy salad and steak fries.

• Balle Balle quatre meter pizza
  Tricolour chicken tikka with makhani sauce, mint chutney, mango chutney, fresh coriander & a smoked yoghurt drizzle.

• Kitchen sink nachos
  Sink nachos comes with black bean chilli, jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole, jalapeno & salsa.

• Asian street food momos, paneer Manchurian & Indo-Chinese chilli chicken
  Rainbow pasty come fried and come with a homemade dipping sauce.

• Designated mojito mocktail
  Lime, mint, apple, berry of the month & soda.

• Takalua’s tipple mocktail
  Fresh orange, lime, cranberry & lemonade.

• Candy shop dirty shake
  A vanilla ice cream shake, topped with whipped cream, bakery-spun candy floss, & candy.

• Strawberry fields forever dirty shake
  Wrapped in rainbow popcorn, strawberry ice cream shake comes topped with whipped cream & is finished with homemade strawberry sponge cake with a cream cheese frosting.

To sum it up, the portion sizes are very generous and cooked to a high standard. The atmosphere is wonderful and, in the evenings, can be quite the buzz! Each time a dish is brought out, it literally turns heads. The only downside is the dirty shakes, they weren’t as amazing as they looked but pretty much everything else makes up for them.
