I know that this might sound easy, but I had to do it as a school project with my 5 year old. My son (cute as he is) is a trouble magnet and I had to watch him like a hawk as he wanted to put his fingers by the blades of the magic wand. Nevertheless, he still has all 10 digits and has tried something new, passion fruit.
Firstly, we had to go to the supermarket in order for him to choose something that he had not tried before. He looked all over the shop and then settled on a new packet of crisps. Nice try, but I said no. I made him concentrate only on the fruit and veggie isle so he chose passion fruit (or maracuja in Portuguese).
He was quite excited about the purple semi-hard rocks that I had purchased and could not wait to get home to crack those babies open. So after a quick costume change, he was ready for some maracuja action.
Preparation, luckily, was easy to do and being a boy, he enjoyed the messy gooey business of placing the insides into a small bowl.
Then out came the ice cream and milk (which immediately made him decide that this maracuja is going to taste awesome). We popped everything into a large cup and started whizzing.
So all in all a good time was had by all, all digits present and accounted for, and hopefully a new lover of maracuja has been found. They grow up so fast that it is sometimes a good thing to just have some fun doing something different!
Thanks for reading and have an awesome day!
Future chef is growing -)

Mmmm, tasted good 😉
I for one am glad he did not chop any fingers off ...
