Food with Francis #1 - The lobster wasn't even from Boston!!

Hello Steemit Friends!

This is my first post here on this site but I am excited to show you guys some of the things I do in my everyday life. This past weekend I went to a neat little restaurant called Boston Lobster. It's located in the corner of a small plaza in San Gabriel, CA so it's kind of a little hole in the wall.

I went there for dinner at around 7 and it was pretty packed! I had to wait around 20 minutes to get seated but once you get seated, service is pretty quick. After ordering, our first dish came in about 10 minutes!

French Style Beef.jpg

The first dish that came out was this French Style Beef dish. This is a pretty common dish in various Chinese Restaurants, contrary to its name, although the dish does have Vietnamese origins. I must say though, this restaurant had this dish nailed down! The meat was very tender and juicy. They give you some lime and salt with it but I don't really like to use the salt too much. I did spritz some of the lime on it to give it a little bit of a citrus-y kick.

Fish Fillet.jpg

We also ordered the Black Pepper Fish Fillet Sizzling Plate and lemme tell ya, it sure was hot! I had to wait a couple minutes to let it cool down because it was sizzling all over the table! This was probably one of the more mediocre dishes that we ordered. Usually I like to go for the Deep Fried Fish but I decided to change it up and go for a sizzling plate instead.

Honey Walnut Shrimp.jpg

The Honey Walnut Shrimp was probably one of my favorite dishes of the night. This is another common dish in Chinese Restaurants and there's not really much to say about this other than the walnuts are probably the best part of it(or at least for me they were). Not going to lie, if they just served me this dish with just the walnuts and no shrimp, I wouldn't even be mad. I could eat a whole plate filled with just these honey stir-fried walnuts! The shrimps are just an added bonus in my opinion.

And last but not least, how could I go to a place called Boston Lobster and not order the lobster! This was the House Special Lobster. You can't see it that well in this picture, but underneath this spiny crustacean is a whole mess of noodles! I'll be honest with you guys, I'm not really the biggest fan of lobster but I had to see if this place lived up to it's name. The lobster was excellently prepared and the noodles were great as well! The lobster was already all cut up and it was super easy to get the meat out of the various segments of lobster. However, at an $80 price point, I'd rather just get $80 worth of those honey walnuts!

Overall, this place is probably better than your average Chinese Restaurant and if you don't order the lobster, you can easily keep it in the $15-$20 range of price per person. It is family style eating so you can try a little of every dish you order! Well, that's all I have for you guys today. Till next time Steemit!

The food looks very appetizing :) Is this place suitable for families with children?

Yes! Many families were eating there with their children when I went!
