I've never been to Hamburg and one of my favorite places in Eu is Germany, second to Austria. I've just been to Berlin and the whole stretch of the Mosel Valley - very picturesque and I only have beautiful experiences. I love the warm - very friendly people I have met there and most of all - their food and their BREAD!

Hamburg seems more modern. Curious what the place is like cause you compared it to Venice - googled it. Found pics that of landmarks that look like houses out here - and water everywhere!
