5 reasons to include blue fish in your diet

in #food6 years ago (edited)

Many of us when it comes to consuming fish, prefer to buy grouper, tuna, snapper or hake. however none has as many nutritional benefits as sardines or herring.

for this reason I bring you 5 reasons to include them in our diet:

  1. Being a blue fish is a very good source of Omega-3, which helps lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, also increases the fluidity of the blood, which lowers the risk of suffering from certain coronary diseases.
  2. Sardines are sources of Group B vitamins, such as B12 or B1 or Niacin, as well as fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D and E. They are also rich in minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc and iodine. And not only when they are consumed fresh do they provide nutrients, since canned sardines have a high Calcium content, this is because they are consumed together with the spine.
  3. Another aspect to note in the composition of this fish is its high protein content, which makes it ideal for special feeding regimes.
  4. A serving of 200 grams of sardines contributes 67% of the daily recommendations of proteins and triples those of vitamin D, besides being very digestive.
  5. For belonging to the group of blue fish, it has a high content of polyunsaturated fats, essential for the normal development of the brain, without forgetting that it contributes few calories.

Tips:

When buying sardines make sure your skin is shiny and firm to the touch, the eyes should be bright and should not give off any bad smell.
