Recipe Wajik Ketan
So many cakes made with glutinous rice, one of which is a diamond. The term cake diamonds themselves more popular in Central Java and had different designations in each area. This cake was included in the category of traditional wet with the taste of sweet and delicious. Diamonds are generally made of sticky rice with extra brown sugar dark brownish color so obtained.
ingredients
White glutinous rice, wash then soak 1 hour-500 grams
Brown sugar-250 grams
Granulated sugar-50 g
Pandanus leaf-3 pieces
Thick coconut milk-250 ml
Salt – 1 tsp
Water-100 ml
Step by Step
- Prepare a steamer pot/steamer. Steamed glutinous rice for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat.
- In a wok/pan, boil the coconut milk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, pandan leaves, salt, and water. Mix well and leave to boil.
- Enter the sticky rice steamed into stew in coconut milk. Mix well and cook until the coconut milk out and glutinous texture look greasy or shiny.
- Move sticky diamonds in a baking pan or container. Compress, tidy up, and let cool to room temperature of diamonds. Pieces of diamonds.
Tips
Select the sticky rice with best quality for maximum results.
Select the red brown sugar.
When the boil coconut milk, measure the sugar can be added according to taste sweetness level.
