Review: #0003 Beef Stew Hungarian Style

Today's menu beef stew hungarian style. Will it taste like the real one? I don't know I never had real hungarian beef stew but it certainly looks interesting.

On the packaging it says spicy, with paprika and onions and MSG free.

Strange why does it say there is yeast extract inside that's basically the same just a different word :D

Who cares if its MSG free. I'm a big supporter of MSG thank whoever invented that stuff.
MSG is the solution to every bad tasting dish. You can even put MSG in a bowl of hot water add some salt and pepper and people will think what a great soup that is.

What do we need?

1 Pound of beef
Some potatoes
1 Pack of something that makes those 2 ingredients to a delicious meal.

Dice the beef and since I couldn't find any onions the spice mix I decided to add a real one.

Fry the onions and add the meat.

Instructions says I should add 375ml water and the spice mix. Ok done.

Now let it simmer for 60-90 min. Shit thats it??? Never thought that Hungarian beef stew would be that easy.

After 60 min I add some potatoes chunks.

After 90min. it should be done. Nah still to tough maybe I got the wrong meat. Nevertheless I cooked it for another 45min. just to be sure.

I was right, meat is soft enough now. I didn't know what the beef stew traditionally is served with and I didn't want to bother google so I chose noodles. It certainly looks yummy.

Verdict: Meat too bland. The taste is only in the sauce the meat never soaked in the spices. This dish is meant to be eaten the next day. What do we learn? Either you marinade the meat before cooking or eat the dish the next day. Some dishes are simply not made to be eaten right away. But still its edible.
