Today I tried to recreate a northern German delicacy.
I wasn't going exactly like the original because I like
my version better.
Its hearty and pretty fatty exactly how I like it.
Be warned, if you eat too much your fart could kill.
What do we need?
1 Onion. 3 pounds of kale. Strong broth, chicken or pork. I went with pork.
Handfull of oats. 2 types of sausages. A coarse smoked similar to a chorizo.
The second one is a boiled sausage with tons of flavour,
difficult to describe. You also need thick bacon stripes.
Fresh or smoked. I used smoked bacon.
To round everything up, smoked pork chops. Oh and salt, pepper and
mustard.
Lets get started. Dice the onions, fry them and add kale and broth.
Add only enough broth so the everything gets almost covered maybe
a little less. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Now add bacon, porkchop and let it cook for about 30 minutes under low heat.
Add 2 tablespoons of mustard

Now both types of sausages and submerge them, add 2 handfull of oats, cook it under low heat for another 30min.
Here is where a deviate from the orginal recipe. Take out the sausages and chop
them into smaller pieces and put them back. Normally the kale is served with
whole sausages but I prefer it like a stew.
Now simmer the shit out of it maybe for an hour. It would be possible to eat
it right away but it definitely taste better if you eat it the next day
Usually you eat it with boiled potatoes but I discovered that it tastes better with fluffy white rice.
good post
Thank you.
