In case you are wandering what a "Tamu" is ..... simply, it is a weekly market where all local farmers (big & small) gather to sell their produce. It is still being practiced since the year dot and today's visit to Dongongon Town in Penampang still brings delight with flavors as well as curiosity.
Dried Anchovies for example, is a sought after delicacy when it is fried to crispiness with "cilli padi"(red hot local jalapenos) , onions, garlic and peanuts! When served .... a squeeze of "limau" (local lime) .... it's sweet, sour, spicy, fishy, crunchy ..... what else, just beer away to a climax!!
