Aquafaba is a viscous water obtained after boiling legume seeds like Chickpeas Aquafaba is used in so many vegan recipes specially as an egg replacer. From long time I was thinking to make whip cream out of aquafaba and yesterday when I baked a cake for daughter's birthday I decided to make it. Few days before I prepared aquafaba and and kept in freedger, yesterday only prepared whiped cream.
It is very easy to prepare but needs some time and patience.
Ingredients-
- Chickpeas 1 cup
- Sugar powder as required
- Vanilla extract/essence few drops (optional)
Procedure-
- Soak chickpeas overnight and boil in a pressure cooker with enough water.
- Filter and make a concentrate of residue. With 1 cup chickpeas, I made about 1/2 cup concentrate.
- Add sugar powder 1/2 cup or little less.
- Whip it for about 15-20 minutes, slowly it will turn into a thick white cream like consistency.
- This cream is perfect for cake dressing or for baking purposes. It can be made without sugar if it is required for baking purposes. As I made it for cake dressing so added sugar.
- If you love to bake must give it a try and if already have tried, share your experiences here
