Guacamole Dip And Sweet Potato Hummus Dip During The Dip~Vegan

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Well today I was inspired by the tragic crypt dip, to make some dips. So I thought I would hold my head up high stay positive, focus on general well being and eat some good food.

Today Mexico meets the Mediterranean. Guacamole and hummus but with sweet potato.

A Greek guy I know would be upset if he knew I put sweet potato in the hummus. He wouldn't even try it.

I thought I would make some tiny flat breads, instead of looking for pitas or buying tortillas. We used to make flat bread at the vegan company I worked for but we used xanthan gum as well as flour and water. I just used water because here in Mexico I wouldn't even know where to find it if it is here at all.

The breads worked out fine. And they were perfect for dipping along with all of the crunchy vegetables.

The guacamole was made with avocados, lime juice, salt, and garlic. I would have put cilantro but little market I went to only had unattractive wilted stuff. It still was great without it.

The hummus was made with a can of chickpeas, garlic, and lime juice (I would have preferred lemon but they are only in some stores here and quite expensive). I normally use tahini(sesame butter) but I haven't seen such a thing here so I substituted it with sesame seeds pulverized with olive oil and water. It really worked out fine.

When the sweet potato was cooked I blended it together with the hummus.

It was topped with some oregano I had purchased which was dry but not ground up so I ground that up and what a flavor it had compared to the ones I had purchased in Canada.

It's fun to chew on crunchy veggies with tasty dips. It helps to keep up the morale.

Nice one, I love hommus and guacamole...
Smart move to pulverize sesame-seeds, tahini is hard to find in many countries.
