SO SO SO TRUE! I have done this everywhere I lived, and now that my 5 years in London may be drawing to a close (I haven't decided yet, we shall see), I'm like panicking at all the things that I have put off for 5 years : Hampton Court, Kew Gardens, Tower of London, Tate Britain and so much more. Really need to tackle that list now, I don't even have a full-time job anymore so there really are no excuses!
I guess i'm always too optimistic that I'll return and do those things, but one only has so much time and funds to do everything... Thanks for reminding me to start PLANNING!
Well, hopefully you can get this list going and start crossing these places out. Our list was not only places, but activities like seeing a musical, theatre show or football match. This does add up quite a bit and bruise the bank account, but we were still earning a decent salary and justified these experiences with the fact this could be our last time living in central London. Next time (if there is one), we would probably be living in the suburbs taking the commuter train in Monday to Friday and therefore resent coming into London over the weekend.
Do what you can and the ones that you want to see as you can't do everything. Hopefully, you'll figure out where your next destination in life is. :)
Well I'll have you know that I just managed to cross off another item off my list this weekend! And as you mentioned, my list isn't just places either, but also musicals, parties, bars and restaurants...so yeah unfortunately being London it is a huge bruise to the bank account, and my salary was not too decent for London... But yeah I couldn't commute from suburbs, I just love living in the centre of a city and being close to everthing!
Well I have a 5 month trip to figure that out 🙈
What was that item off the list? Or will it be in your latest post?
It was perfect living in the centre and worth paying the few extra pounds (and more) to live centrally.
Five months in South America will be awesome and we're NOT jealous at all :p
Eh don't think we'll make a post about it, we just went to Tate Britain which I had been meaning to go to for 5-6 years (despite having been to Tate Modern like 3-5 times lol!)
Oh definitely, always worth it in my opinion. Having to commute long distances sucks the joy out of everything!
Haha, thanks :p Though actually it won't be limited to South America, but I wanna do a international tour and visit every continent!
Yes Tate Modern gets more attention (probably due to location) than Tate Britain. Well done for finally getting around to visiting the gallery.
Round the world and visit every continent trip sounds right up our alley too! If you ever make it to Thailand (Bangkok), hit us up! We'll probably be around here for a bit, but who knows. :D
Yeah for sure, and I guess modern art may be more popular than classical art? I know I prefer it! We didn't even make it through the whole gallery, but luckily I saw all the modern stuff which ignited my inspiration for an unfinished painting. All in all, was definitely worth it, plus its FREE! One of the only great things about London!
Hehe hell yeah, do you guys live there? I wasn't sure whether you were just visiting or if it was a little more long term! 5 months is quite a while, so we'll see, i'm sure we'll keep in contact! :)
Free museums and art galleries is why we loved London! Hopefully you'll get back to your painting and finally finish it off!
We're based in Thailand (Bangkok), but often travel for fun, holidays or Becca's visa run (renewal). It's a little bit more long term until Sam finishes his MBA here by the end of the year. Then we shall see..
