In Rotterdam we have a lot off water and near the water we have a lot off nice tasty restaurants with great food and drinks. Today we went to “ wine bar MENDOZA “

Wine bar Mendoza is known for its Argentinian wines and they are happy to tell you all about it!

The development of Argentinian wine is relatively young and reads like an exciting boys' book. Or in my case a girls book. I love a glass of wine. And I will never pass up an opportunity.

The Argentinian wine market was almost entirely driven by domestic consumption until well into the 20th century. This amounted to almost 100 liters per year per Argentinian and was of poor quality and partly because of that hardly crossed the border.
Than the major breakthrough dates back to 1989 when, after a democratic revolution, wine consumption fell dramatically and producers had to seek refuge abroad. In order to get a foothold there, however, much had to be improved and the Argentines have since done so with great zeal.

A striking example is the Bodega Norton winery in Mendoza River Valley. Bodega Norton was taken over in 1989 by Austrian crystal king Gernot Langes-Swarovski from founder Sir Edmund James Palmer Norton. Swarovski invested an asset and now owns one of the most advanced wine domains in the world.
