How to make homemade ACAI bowls:
This is such a great alternative to an ACAI bowl from your local smoothie bar. Most local smoothie bars charge upwards of $8 USD for a small bowl which can get expensive day after day. By making this alternative recipe at home you will not only be saving money but will get to indulge in more to satisfy your hunger!!
This is a great plant-based, vegan breakfast that will give you the fuel you need to start your day.
Ingredients:
β Frozen blueberries
β Apple juice or coconut water
β Granola
β Hemp hearts
β Agave nectar
β Medjool dates
β Ripe banana
β Coconut flakes
Directions:
First, pour desired amount of frozen blueberries into a blender. (I was making 3 small portions) Next, add a small amount of Apple juice or coconut water, whichever you prefer. (I used Apple juice) Then, pulse and stir until the texture is smooth.
Next, it's time to get the bowls ready! First, I add a small amount of granola to the bottom of the bowl so that granola is distributed evenly throughout the bowl. Then, add desired amount of "Acai" blend to each bowl.
Following this, it's time for the toppings!! I like to add hemp hearts, granola, fresh sliced bananas, medjool dates and agave nectar. I also like to add coconut flakes, but unfortunately I didn't have any for this bowl.
Finally it's time to enjoy!!
