Homemade Onion Rings!

in #food • 6 years ago

I have to admit that I enjoy cooking, but it is mostly limited to things I like to eat and which are not the healthiest! 😇

I have a small deep fryer which I do not use too often, but ended up pulling out over the weekend. .. I wanted some homemade onion rings!

I am not sure where I got this recipe originally, but I have been making onion rings the same way for a long time – beer battered! I start with some regular flour, and then I add in salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper. Once the dry ingredients are mixed, I add a can of beer and start stirring to create the batter.

I feel like the onion rings you normally buy barely have any onion in them, so I do two rings per onion ring, so they are particular thick and onion-y. I take my double onion, and coat it in the batter, and then drop it into the deep fryer. I usually use canola or corn oil, and I flip them around 2-3 minutes for about 5-6 minutes total per batch.

In this case, I also had a couple of jalapenos from my garden which I also deep fried in the same batter. The onion rings and jalapenos came out great! Here are a few pictures:

Yummy! So delicious onion ring. Really you made us hungry. I appreciate your onion ring recipe and I will try to prepare the amazing food. Hope you and your family enjoy the delicious food.

My partner absolutely loves onion rings, they are her favourite guilty treat. We will sometimes order in for them, we have a spot nearby that makes great onion rings and they deliver. Recently I started making our own. we don't own a deep fryer so I just used one of our deeper pans and put about an inch of oil in it. The recipe I found used is similar to yours except I used buttermilk in the batter. I think I will try the beer next time. Totally agreed on the onion issue, we like nice tick onions. Do you soak the onion first? I have heard it is good for softening it so it cooks better.

Dude these look delicious!! I try to stay away from fried foods as much as possible but these look incredible

But not all fried foods are dangerous to health @sevinwilson.. But you just have to regulate your consumption.

So that's the trick to getting a little less of a mouthful of fried batter, and a little more onion. Nice. I do like the onion rings and the jalapeño poppers. What dipping sauce do you use?

Good question - I made Red Robin’s campfire sauce, which is mayo and bbq sauce mixed together... not too bad!

That's a great sauce for onions rings. I didn't realize that's what Red Robin used. I remember liking their campfire sauce, but I haven't been there in a while.

Homemade is normally better though!

Friend, how are you? you look great your onion rings recipe did not know about that mixture with beer, this is a recipe that I share with you

2 pieces of medium onion
1 cup of flour
1 cup of fresh milk
2 tablespoons of oil
1 piece of egg
1 teaspoon salt
frying oils
white peppers powder

They are other ingredients but the best ones are always the ones that we prepare at home. Everyone has their recipe and their style that will never be the same as in the store.

Greetings to your beautiful family!

Sounds like a good recipe! Always appreciate your comments!

Thank you very much!

hhmmmmm rich, I did not know these things with the onion rings so I'll do the test to see how well they know.

Great work with this one. In summer days i also keep doing somthing like this . Although i'm not good cook but still i try to be good cook.

For sure you made us hungry and, yes, when we buy any stuff readymade then in my opinion most of the time we never get the satisfaction.

And when we cook at home then we take care of all the aspects which can please us and which can give awesome essence to our tummy.

And for sure, the end result reflects awesome and i am sure that you really enjoyed this foodie stuff and onion is one of the important aspect when we talk about the food.

Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂

Simple but delicious. Thank you :)
