Fodder for Toddlers

in #food7 years ago

Oh gone are the days of just feeding your two year old Gold Fish. GMO's man its serious stuff you gotta know what you are doing to your genome now, and theirs. I am guilty of it too, add that to my mom guilt not of being good enough. I use to be all like level 6 vegan, (yeah I just told you), then I was all like let me see if the pizza pockets are done. Pretending I don't have enough time or money to make a healthful organic meals for the kids is plain ignorance. Its expensive if you want to buy frozen organic meals, or boxed cereal. Protein there is enough in two eggs for a person the size of a three year old, organic meat is expensive, and you can almost bet that your sweet little Johnny is going to turn his nose up at that hunk of organic grassfed buffalo you want to feed him, its going to go on the floor. I am on my feet all day long, I can't just sit there and hover around my kids and nag them to finish their meals, two issues with that, I already get nothing done, and secondly my kids will think and vocalize that I am a jerk. But I can supervise them long enough to make sure they down their scrambled eggs in the morning. Organic carrots are great, finding a dip without soybeans not so great, you can't be feeding your kids soybeans either, messes with their hormones, so you gotta make dressing at home too. Greek yogurt and some spices, a bit of vinegar they won't even know the difference. Don't go wasting your money on organic bread either, its is actually not worth the bit of B-vitamins they will get from it, maybe there is evidence that unless the grain is soaked, sprouted, and fermented then it is full of phytic acid which apparently is an antinutrient (is that even a word), and will leach other nutrients out of your system like the minerals zinc and iron. Remember they will have a life time of making their own dietary choices, so hold off on the Sunny Delight, and choose a cold pressed orange juice.
