3 must try food items from Hyderabad

When I am transferred to Hyderabad I was in a notion that I am going to the hottest place on earth second only to Sahara desert. But my whole idea about that place changed while reaching there. This paradise of food lovers especially non vegetarians welcomes each and everyone wholeheartedly.Do you know about 99% of the people in Hyderabad are non vegetarians? While reaching Hyderabad me and my wife ordered Hyderabadi biryani in one not so famous restaurant because we were new there.It costs around 190 INR which I found too expensive. My wife then told me that we can just taste by taking one and buy another only if we like it. But OMG ! they brought it in a huge pot! After we both had satisfied our hunger there was enough food left for a small boy also. Thank god we have not ordered more than one.That is Hyderabad for you. It will give you a warm welcome with its pleasant climate(except for few months),authenticate cuisines and snacks from Nizams,beautiful places to visit and all these with a low cost living.These are the food items me and my relatives loved when reaching there. If you ever reach this place I think you should try these.

a) Hyderabadi dum biryani
This steam cooked biryani is prepared with meat marinated with spices overnight.It is then soaked in yogurt before cooking. The meat mixed with fragrant basmati rice, and cooked on dum (steaming over coals), after sealing the handi (vessel) with dough.The aroma of this rice will pierce your nostril from a distance.

b)Osmania biscuit
The last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, wanted a snack that was a little sweet and a little salty. That was the origin of osmania biscuits. Still I have no idea how we get the salt flavour in the end while taking it. Smooth and tasty ....Yummy!

c)Irani tea
Persian immigrants came to India in search of a better life and to trade. They migrated to Hyderabad.Irani tea came with them.The tea leaves are boiled in a separate container.Water and milk boiled in separate container. Then while serving to the customers they pour in first the milk then the liquid solution made out of tea leaves. A small quantity of creamy Irani tea is enough to make you love Hyderabad foreever.
