Bread from scratch!! (Homemade)

in #food7 years ago

Hello everybody. Today I'm going to be making bread from scratch. There's a misconception that it's very hard but it's rather very very easy. I recommend all of you to try out this recipe. You never know what's going into your bread in the store made ones. So make your own bread from scratch. Here's how to do it.

Ingredients used
Bread flour
Water
Yeast
Sugar
Salt
Milk powder
Eggs
Butter

Take a large bowl with 120ml of water in it and add 1tsp of yeast, 3tsp of sugar, ¾tsp of salt, 4tsp of good quality milk powder, 1 egg(optional) and mix the ingredients together.

Then add 250gms (2 cups) of bread flour in the mixture and mix it with a spatula first. Once it's mixed, add 3tsp of butter and start kneading!

How to knead?
Use your hands (preferably) and push the dough outwards and bring it in. At first it will be a very sticky mess, but because of that do not add more flour to it. Keep kneading for around 10-12 minutes. Till it becomes non sticky and stretchy like this.

And then oil another bowl and place the dough in it. Secure it with a damp cloth or a plastic for an hour until it becomes double in size.

Here's how it should look when it doubles in size

Roll the dough in prefered size. I'm going to make them into bread rolls. You can just keep it like that to get a big loaf of bread or just any shape you want.

Take a tray lined with butter paper and place the dough in it. If your going for different shapes, leave space inbetween as it will poof up more.

Secure the tray again and leave it until it doubles in size.
