Delicious Bacon Cheeseburger at The Black Swan Pub in Bangkok

in #food7 years ago

The Black Swan Pub in Bangkok is a veritable institution and has one of the best expat comfort food menus in Bangkok.

I was lucky enough to have an old friend from Hong Kong visiting Bangkok this week, so we decided to go for a drink and some food at The Black Swan.

The menu is extensive, full of everyone's favourite pub food and the portions are a good size. I had been craving a burger for a while so for me the decision only came down to which type, and even that was more or less a foregone conclusion because I almost always go for a bacon cheeseburger. This was no exception.

The burger came served on a wooden board, with a small side salad (2 dressings) and a stack of potato wedges. The burger itself had 2 slices of fresh tomato and a large lettuce leaf in, along with the meat, cheese and bacon.

I'm not a fan of salad so the first thing I always do is remove any lettuce and tomato slices from my burgers, and then I like to add ketchup.

Here you can see the burger after I had taken a few bites. The bun was lovely and soft, the meat was juice and there was just enough cheese and bacon to balance out the flavours, there was a nice addition of caramelized onions which also added to the deliciousness of this particular burger.

The burger patty itself was chargrilled perfectly, with just the right amount of crispy outer bits and a nicely done, moist center.

I would rate this burger as easily a 7 out of 10, maybe even an 8.

Here is another picture of the burger when it arrived.

Oh and before I forget, I almost never eat potato fries, but these were actually damn good and I finished them off as well.

I'm not going to lie, most of them here are fantastic. :)

Would love to wash this all down with a refreshing Chang.

How about an ice cold Asahi in Chatuchak weekend market!

I am not going to lie- that looks phenomenal! I love the presentation style on the cutting board like that- A++ meal right there! :)

I rarely eat Farang's food ever in Thailand but yes, this one does look good and I'm sure it tastes good just like you mention. If you're around in BKK still (not sure but guess so since your username is @bangkokbrit) and would like to try a very good burger just like this one, I really like their burgers at the place called 'MASH' in Silom (close to Saladaeng BTS station). So juicy and good taste though, the price is totally not for eating every so often. Check it out :)
