We managed to harvest a handful of peppers before the hail hit. They're pretty mild, but very tasty. I doubt they'd do much to the eggs.
Now I have plenty of seeds for next year though. Hopefully I'll have some uber-hot peppers for pickled eggs. Never tried one before. Sounds delicious.
