The Lao Cai restaurant, situated in the tourist-centric area of the city, may come with a higher price tag, but the culinary experience it delivers is of exceptional quality and notably fresh. With its friendly ambiance and comfort, the three-story restaurant offers a spacious environment, and we opted for the second floor for a cozier setting. The extensive space of the restaurant creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
We enjoyed a delightful lunch featuring a variety of unique and delicious dishes. The crispy fried mountain fish brought a delightful flavor, with a crunchy exterior complementing the tender fish inside. The boiled hillside chicken was rich in meaty flavor, maintaining its freshness and tenderness, making it a great choice for those seeking traditional taste. The hillside chicken used at this restaurant provides a unique experience with its glossy and crispy golden skin. The meat is not only delicious but also exceptionally fresh, creating a notable difference compared to the industrially raised chickens commonly found in the city. What sets it apart is that the chickens here are free-range and naturally raised on the hills, allowing them the opportunity to roam and develop in a natural way. This not only enhances the flavor of the chicken but also reflects a respect for the process of raising and caring for animals. The stir-fried and boiled mountain greens were also delicately prepared, preserving their natural flavors and nutritional value.
The visually appealing purple sticky rice not only looked beautiful but also carried a fragrant and intriguing taste. The sweet and sour crispy pork belly with shrimp provided a harmonious blend of sweetness, sourness, and spiciness, offering a unique and delicious dish. The stir-fried beef with mountain greens, combining the savory beef with fresh green vegetables, created a rich and balanced dining experience.
Uniqueness and diversity are the standout features of the dishes and menu here. This restaurant offers a culinary experience featuring specialties unique to the mountainous region, especially various types of wild vegetables. These greens are not easily found in the city, and their inclusion in the restaurant's dishes creates a distinct and unmistakable flavor.
Wild vegetables from the mountains not only ensure diversity in the menu but also bring forth unique and intriguing flavors. These greens possess distinct tastes that enrich the meals and contribute to a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. The combination of freshness and the natural flavors of these wild vegetables makes the dishes particularly special and appealing to diners, especially those who seek to explore and savor new and exotic tastes.
Highly recommend !!
