♦Ham bread
Ham bread is a bread stuffed with ham, stir-fried bacon (also called smoked bacon), raisins and green olives, usually stuffed with pepper or red paprika. It is a typical bread of Venezuela, which is part of the country's Christmas gastronomy. There are some variants in the ingredients, such as turkey ham and cream cheese among others and a variant has been created in the bread using puff pastry. This bread is a Venezuelan creation of the early twentieth century whose consumption and manufacture little by little became a Christmas custom until becoming essential every December.
♦ Ingredients for Ham Bread:
♦ 1 and 1/2 Kg of all-purpose wheat flour.
♦ 2 tablespoons fresh yeast (in grains or pasta)
♦ 200 grams of butter at room temperature.
♦ 3 eggs.
♦ 200 Gr of sugar.
♦ 1 tablespoon of salt.
♦ 1/2 liter of milk.
♦ 400 gr of smoked bacon.
♦Golfeado
The golfeado is a sweet bread typical of the gastronomy of Venezuela, originally from the Capital Region of the country, especially from the area of the High Mirandinos.
The dough is rolled with a shape similar to that of a snail so it resembles the famous cinnamon rolls, and in its folds is filled with a mixture of shredded paper and white cheese, flavored with anise in kind and baked.
They are usually accompanied by a slice of hand cheese, a type of salty and soft fresh cheese that is also typical of the country. For many Venezuelans, the ascent to Los Teques or Colonia Tovar, including a trip to Macuto, was synonymous with eating golfeados, because each of these roads stood out a must for their fame thanks to these sweets.

♦ 20 grs. of fresh yeast

♦ 1 tsp. of salt
♦ ½ cup of sugar
♦ 350 grs. Of flour

♦ Golfeados
Place the yeast, salt and sugar in a bowl, then add warm milk and butter, then stir and add the flour little by little, then mix it into a dough and add the eggs, then knead on a surface Smooth until the dough is very smooth. Then, with a rolling pin, spread until it finishes, the surface is floured so that it does not stick. Then spread the dough with butter and spread the foil and grated cheese, then add aniseed in kind, and then begin to roll horizontally forming a roll, squeeze and cut into circles of about 4 cm, then place them in a tray and let them rise for an hour in a warm and preferably dark place, then put them in the oven at 350º until they brown, remove them and bathe them with melted paper and place grated cheese to gratin.
