Saturday in Sydney#1

in #food7 years ago (edited)

Sydney is full of nice unique cafes with an authentic atmosphere and good food. I love all of that so I decided to dedicate every Saturday morning to explore a new form of breakfast. Saturday morning is a lovely time when you can slowly wake up, greet neighbors cat, move to the street, smile to the sun and go wherever and see where it takes you. I am a little bit too organized so I consider all my breakfast options the day before and have at least an area in mind. I live in Surry Hills area, so here is a plenty to choose from.

Last Saturday I've visited '4 ate 5' . Friday evening I was desperate for a burger but when I reached the place I've decided to go healthy - too many good looking things in the menu and all of them are mostly vegetable based, you can find quinoa muesli, gluten free toasts, coconut yogurt and many other things, the menu is online.
One of my weakest points is choosing food, every time I spend ages doing that because I want to try it all, so I've asked for an advice and got this:

This is Shakshouka, poached eggs with tomato sauce, onions and spices (bacon I added). It was delicious and spicy and perfect for an early (not really) morning. Have to say the portion was huge, and I could eat only a half of it, so in fact, I got a two days breakfast:)
The place is nice and cozy with good atmosphere and big windows but it does get a bit crowded. It's perfect for breakfast with friends but if you want to have a coffee and read a book I'd probably come much earlier.
It is not too expensive, I'd say you can spend from 10 to 30 dollars there for one person with coffee and meal, depending on what you want. If you are up for some vegetable based, healthy and original meals, it's definitely a place to try.
